Division manager Rob Moore and Hitmen Interim Manager Mike Raisanen pose with MVP Elvis Andrus
Thanks to Northside Hitmen shortstop Elvis Andrus who hit a solo homerun in the sixth inning, the City Boys Division defeated the Country Gents Division in the 2012 All-Star Game.
Andrus’ pinch hit homerun put the Boys up for good in their 3-1 victory and he was named Game MVP. The City Boys’ secondbasemen also contributed in the win. Three Rivers Gamblers Dustin Pedroia hit an rbi double in the second inning. His replacement, Kentucky Kernels’ Robinson Cano also drove in a run with a two-bagger in the ninth.
City Boys’ starter Jered Weaver gave up a solo homerun to Rising Bamm Beanos outfielder Matt Kemp in the second inning but the bullpen kept the Country Gents quiet for the balance of the game.
